Pay Equity Matters: The Business Imperative for Ensuring Fair Compensation Practices

Over the past several years, the pay equity movement has gained substantial momentum.  Employers face ever increasing pressure from numerous sources, including government agencies, investors, employees, and the public at large, to ensure fair and equitable compensation practices.  Join this program as we review the history of efforts to address the wage gap, the current state of federal and state laws prohibiting pay discrimination, and best practices for employers to ensure pay equity.

Matthew J. Camardella, Principal

Matthew Camardella is a principal in the Long Island, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He is the co-leader of the Affirmative Action, OFCCP and Government Contract Compliance practice group.

Matt directs the preparation of more than 1,000 AAPs each year and has defended hundreds of OFCCP audits for a broad range of employers across the country.

He also serves as the practice group lead on responding to OFCCP allegations of class-based discrimination. He regularly counsels clients about the design and implementation of company-wide AAP structures, applicant flow tracking systems, and other complex “real world” compliance issues. He spends significant time advising clients on their compensation practices and directing pay equity analyses.
