OFCCP Releases New VEVRAA Resources

On February 29, 2024, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) released added resources to help veterans and employers understand the protections under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) of 1974. Under VEVRAA, federal contractors and subcontractors with a contract of $150,000 or more are prohibited from engaging in discrimination in employment practices against veterans and require employers to take action to provide equal employment opportunities in recruitment, hiring, promoting and retaining protected veterans.

The resources include a series of videos highlighting the importance and benefits of self-identification and informing viewers which veterans are protected by VEVRAA. OFCCP released new Promising Practices and updated their Frequently Asked Questions with new guidance to help employers comply with VEVRAA. The new VEVRAA landing page includes links to the new resources.

Next Steps

Employers are encouraged to review the VEVRAA Contractor Resources for assistance with understanding how to comply with the requirements of VEVRAA.
